At steam you can just thumbs up/down and write a review text and it's unclear why a certain game is good or bad. So we've created an advanced rating system on top of that to have actually real measure points for game reviews. We've added 5 categories where you decide to give 1-5 points in each category. As well as tag based ratings for most liked and disliked aspects.
All those measurements take account in the aggregated ratings and in future features you will be also able to search games by those measure points. That could be for example "List me all games where the Tag "high replay value" was one of the most positive tags in all reviews made"
GameGauge is more than reviews — it's your discovery companion. You can browse hand-curated categories like "Fast-Paced Games", "Cozy Games", or "Story-Rich Games", powered by community-validated tags and game data. With smart filters, you can find exactly what you're in the mood for.
Discovery tags are hand-picked by the GameGauge team to reflect playstyles, vibes, mechanics, and more. They help users filter games beyond basic genres — for example, you can explore games that are cozy, dark, fast-paced, tactical, or heavily story-driven.
GameGauge’s discovery system gets smarter with every user rating. Ratings include category scores and highlight tags (both positive and negative) — all of which feed into how games are surfaced and recommended. Over time, this creates a powerful feedback loop where honest reviews improve game visibility and accuracy.
